Air 001 establishes bases at Czech regional airports

Last fall, the ÄŒEDOK travel agency announced that its clients would be flying from regional airports in the Czech Republic with Air 001 as carrier. The turning point was the 2024 summer season, during which not even half of Smartwings charters departed on time. That carrier was ÄŒEDOK's key carrier at the time. The Blue-Style agency first reached an agreement with the Ukrainian SkyLine Express and the Turkish MGA, later exchanging the Ukrainians for the Romanian HelloJets. ÄŒedok has now started to rely on the Bulgarians.

Air 001 is a brand of the Bulgarian airline Electra Airways. During the summer season, it will serve more than 280 thousand transported clients. The Air 001 fleet has grown by three Airbus A320s (LZ-EAK, LZ-EAL and LZ-EAN) ahead of its strongest season. Two of them headed to new bases in the Czech Republic.

On Sunday, April 26, 2026, an empty Airbus A320 with registration LZ-EAN (production number 3014, year of manufacture 2007) arrived from Varna to Brno. The first commercial flight 9263 of the Air 001 aircraft was to Madeira, where it landed on Tuesday, April 28. Airbus from its Brno base provides charter flights to Fuerteventura, Madeira and to Marsa Alam and Marsa Matruh. More destinations will be added as the summer approaches.

The Ostrava base is served by an Airbus A320 with registration LZ-EAK (production number 1217, year of manufacture 2000). The first commercial flight 9638 of this Air 001 aircraft was on Saturday, May 2, from Ostrava to Marsa Matruh. It currently flies there and to Marsa Alam. Similarly, in the case of Brno, other destinations will be added as the summer approaches.

Although Electra Airways is from Bulgaria, there will always be a Czech-speaking crew on board. Aircraft flying under the Air 001 brand have a new interior. Air 001 passengers will have 20kg of checked baggage included in the price of the trip. On board, passengers will be able to purchase refreshments or a special menu to order. There will be an option to reserve a specific seat in advance.

ÄŒedok praises the cooperation, as Air 001 charters will fly on the days and with the departure time according to his wishes. ÄŒedok lacks such flexibility with other carriers with which he cooperates. The travel agency's clients themselves will appreciate it the most.

In 2026, a total of five aircraft will fly under the Air 001 brand for the Czech ÄŒedok and its mother, the Polish Itaka. From an operational point of view, the cabin crew themselves will also be based in the Czech Republic.

Čedok presented the new carrier to the public on November 5, 2025. Partners, media representatives and influencers were invited to the demonstration flight from Ostrava to České Budějovice and back. The remaining capacity of the aircraft was on sale on the Čedok website at a price of 1,500 CZK for a one-way ticket.
